Manual jewellery designer

Job Overview:

As a Manual Jewelry Designer, you will play a critical role in creating exquisite custom jewelry pieces from concept to completion. This role requires proficiency in traditional jewelry design techniques, including sketching, handcrafting, and working with metals and gemstones. You will collaborate with our design team to bring creative visions to life while ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and create detailed jewelry pieces, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings using manual techniques such as hand sketching, metalworking, and stone setting.
• Work closely with clients, sales, and the design team to understand and develop custom jewelry pieces based on their needs and specifications.
• Produce technical drawings, renderings, and prototypes for each piece.
• Select and source appropriate materials (metals, gemstones, and other embellishments).
• Use manual tools such as saws, files, hammers, and pliers for metal shaping, texturing, and finishing.
• Work with wax models, casting, and hand-finishing techniques to achieve high-quality designs.
• Maintain strict attention to detail in the crafting process, ensuring each piece meets company quality standards.
• Ensure all designs are created with a focus on durability, comfort, and aesthetics.
• Stay up-to-date on current jewelry design trends, techniques, and materials.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior designers as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Manual Jewelry Designer, or similar role in a jewelry manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in traditional jewelry-making techniques
• Strong understanding of materials, gemstones, and their properties.
• Creative mindset with a strong ability to visualize and sketch designs by hand.
• Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Formal training in jewelry design or a related field is preferred.
