Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor – Maintenance (Caustic Soda Unit)

Department: Maintenance

Location: Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

Reporting To: Plant Manager

Job Purpose:

To supervise, execute, and ensure the effective maintenance and smooth operation of all mechanical equipment and systems in the Caustic Soda unit, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of static and rotary equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, agitators, blowers, and pipelines.
• Ensure smooth functioning of brine systems, evaporators, crystallizers, and caustic concentration sections.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintain logs for analysis and improvement.
• Prepare and execute daily maintenance schedules as per planning.
• Coordinate with the operations team for shutdown, isolation, and equipment handover.
• Plan and manage spare parts, tools, and consumables required for maintenance activities.
• Supervise fitters, technicians, and workforce during maintenance execution.
• Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental procedures during maintenance activities.
• Identify areas for reliability improvement and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist in maintaining equipment history and maintenance records in CMMS or logbooks.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B-Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• Experience:

  8–10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a

  Caustic Soda / Chlor-Alkali / Chemical Process Plant

• Hands-on experience with maintenance of rotary and static equipment.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance, alignment, and troubleshooting techniques.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of process plant equipment.
• Good leadership and team supervision skills.
• Understanding of safety standards (e.g., PPE, lockout-tagout, confined space entry).
• Basic knowledge of MS Office and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work under pressure and during plant shutdowns.
