Job Description Manager/Sr. Manager - Sales
Function : Sales
Job Title : Manager/Sr.Manager – Sales
Immediate Manager : Deputy General Manager – Sales
Additional Reporting line to : Director – Sales & Marketing
Position Location : Depending upon the requirement in the Business Unit
General Accountability :
Accountable to maintain existing client accounts and enhance clientele by bringing
in new client accounts, increase the sales performance of the region and work
continuously towards excelling the region budget with available resources and set
standards for selling and customer support.
Principal Responsibilities:
• To support and manage Local Sales / CS team and meet the business goals of the team.
• To develop and execute effective sales plans based and to reach projected result and performance
• To develop all products (Air/Sea (Imports & Exports) transportation/ custom clearance.
• New business acquisition against target with the help of sales team.
• Existing business development target from the current business.
• A sharp and analytical mind to infer from the data available on competition/market.
• Ability to collect market/competitor information consistently.
• To ensure timely collection of payments from the customers.
• To achieve the agreed volume and revenue every month.
• Expansion of the customer spread and new customer creation. Analyse the performance after each sailing with
the executives and take appropriate actions.
• Meeting new and existing clients in a designated area, understanding their logistics needs and then provide a
complete cost-effective solution of their requirements
• Ability to source and recruit sales team sustainably.
• Responsible for revenue numbers.
• To lead and manage annual business planning and budgeting, also execution and implementation of the
Aforesaid.
• Support sales team in business growth by regularly visiting existing and new customers and targeting their cross
functional business.
• Carry out the individual sales KPI and strategies towards set and agreed targets & objectives.
• Follow up on sales lead and conversion rate-Supporting ocean/Air Pricing and Rates-Supporting Tenders/RFQs.
• Monitor all major customer movements/trends/activities.
• Weekly / Monthly Sales Activities & Performances reports.
• To approach MNC and other major customers assigned by management.
• Focus on sales promotion in specific industry as per assignments by the Company.
• Review with the team & customer on regularly basis on performance level.
• Manage credit approvals as per prescribed limits and credit lines in line with management discretion.
• Act as front end to all the customer issues and ensure regular operational support for all the business handled.
Required skills/qualifications/education/studies:
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
• Minimum graduate with 8+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding industry.
• An effective salesman who is familiar with the functional knowledge of freight forwarding products.
• Experience in Managing Bids & RFQs for Larger Customer.
• Proven track record in commercial decision-making ability
• Proven track record to identify & secure new business opportunities.
• Highly engaging, innovative and liable in finding solutions for the customer.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
