Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1.

Provide expert legal advice to management on business operations, commercial decisions, risk exposure, and regulatory compliance.

Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with organisational goals.

Anticipate potential legal risks and recommend preventive measures.

2.

Review and negotiate vide range of international contracts, ensuring legal accuracy.

Oversee agreements related to mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.

Ensure compliance with cross-border trade laws.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Management

Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations; ensure timely implementation.

Oversee statutory compliance across labour, commercial, corporate, IT, and industry-specific laws.

Establish internal compliance frameworks and conduct periodic audits.

4. Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Manage all litigation matters including civil, criminal, labour, arbitration, and consumer cases.

Liaise with external counsel and ensure timely filing, responses, and representation.

Prepare case briefs, documentation, and support evidence gathering.

5. Policy Development

Draft and update company policies, SOPs, and internal guidelines from a legal standpoint.

Conduct legal awareness sessions for employees and leadership teams.

6. Corporate Governance

Support board meetings, minutes, resolutions, and corporate filings if aligned with company structure.

Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.

Work closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to provide legal support.

Represent the organisation during audits, regulatory inspections, and negotiations.

8. Risk Management

Identify emerging legal risks and propose mitigation plans.

Maintain documentation to safeguard company interests.

9. Corporate Governance & Compliance

Maintain statutory records, filings and reporting across different countries and related departments.

Advise the board on governance best practices and legal obligations.

Ensure adherence to international corporate laws and regulatory frameworks.

10.

Monitor changes in global regulations and ensure compliance.

Manage legal risks associated with international operations.

Liaise with legal advisors and government agencies in different countries.

Preferred candidate profile

812+ years of post-qualification experience at reputed law firms and industry.

Strong understanding of corporate laws, labour laws, contract laws, and regulatory compliance.

Experience in litigation management and large-scale contract negotiations.

Attention to Detail: Accuracy in legal documentation, contract drafting and corporate filings.

Ability to work in a diverse environment and manage cross-border legal matters.
