Job Description

Role summary

Were hiring a customer-facing Travel Consultant & branch manager for our MakeMyTrip franchise outlet. You’ll advise walk-in and phone customers, build customized holiday packages (domestic & international), book flights/hotels/activities and close bookings to achieve outlet targets. This role blends sales, operations and exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Greet customers, capture requirements and recommend suitable travel options and packages (leisure, corporate, FIT & group).
  • Prepare accurate quotations and itineraries; present options and upsell where appropriate (hotels, upgrades, add-ons).
  • Book flights, trains, hotels, transfers, activities and visas through MakeMyTrip systems and ensure tickets/documents are issued.
  • Coordinate with MMT head quarter for confirmations, amendments and problem resolution.
  • Handle inbound leads and make outbound follow-ups to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings; maintain CRM/booking logs.
  • Provide pre-travel guidance (visa, insurance, baggage, local regulations) and post-travel follow-up for feedback/complaints.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets, maintain conversion and average booking value KPIs, and report outlet performance to franchise manager.

Required skills & experience

  • 1–3 years experience in retail travel agency, OTA or B2C travel sales (freshers with strong sales aptitude may be considered).
  • Good knowledge of domestic and international travel products, fares, basic visa procedures and travel documentation.
  • Comfortable using MakeMyTrip tools or equivalent CRM/booking software.
  • Strong spoken and written English; proficiency in Kannada/Hindi is a plus for Bengaluru outlet.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work retail hours.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Graduate in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Commerce or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certifications (IATA, travel & tourism diplomas) helpful but not required.

KPIs / Targets (example)

  • Monthly bookings / revenue target
  • Conversion rate of enquiries confirmed bookings (e.g., target 20–30%).
  • Average booking value and repeat customer rate.
