Manager/ Sr Manager - Rubber Technologist (Auto OEMs)

This role is responsible for leading material science research and development initiatives, driving innovation, and providing technical expertise in materials selection, characterization, and application based on fluid transfer system like coolant , air , fuel etc. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting research, and developing advanced materials to enhance product performance and meet customer requirements.

Role & responsibilities:

Material Science Research and Development -

• Lead material science research projects to develop innovative materials and solutions for automotive applications for rubber and plastic hoses.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in material science, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify new materials, additives, and technologies that can improve product performance and durability.
• Collaborate with research and development teams to translate research findings into practical applications

Material Selection and Characterization -

• Provide technical expertise in material selection, considering performance requirements, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Perform material characterization and testing, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
• Analyze material test data to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and guide material selection decisions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate and qualify new materials for production.

Innovation and Product Development

• Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new materials, technologies, and processes.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and materials for potential application in product development.
• Support the design and development of prototypes and new product launches.

Material Standards and Specifications

• Develop and maintain material standards and specifications to ensure quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and procurement teams to ensure compliance with material requirements and specifications.
• Participate in supplier audits and evaluations to ensure the quality and reliability of supplied materials.
• Provide technical support to resolve material-related issues in production

• NABL , TS 16949
• Development of rubber and plastic materials/compounds as per target timeline and cost .
• Standardisation of specification and materials.
• Development of alternative materials.
