Manager - Sea Import Operations

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Sea Import Operations Manager to manage and coordinate all activities related to ocean freight import shipments. The role involves handling documentation, liaising with shipping lines, customs brokers, transporters, and ensuring smooth and timely clearance and delivery of consignments.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate with shipping lines, agents, and overseas offices for import shipment updates.

Handle IGM filing, Bill of Entry processing, and coordinate with CHA for customs clearance.

Manage documentation: BL release, DO collection, invoices, and other related paperwork.

Track shipments and update clients regularly on shipment status.

Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and documentation requirements.

Coordinate with transporters for delivery of cargo to the client.

Maintain shipment records and files for audit and compliance.

Address client queries related to shipments and resolve issues promptly.

Liaise with accounts team for billing and vendor payments.

Monitor detention, demurrage, and arrange timely delivery to avoid penalties.

Requirements:

Graduate in any stream, with good verbal and written communications.

5-10 years of experience in sea import operations (freight forwarding background preferred).

Good knowledge of sea import procedures, customs clearances, and port operations.

Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Ability to handle multiple shipments and work under deadlines.
