Manager

Role Purpose

• The incumbent is responsible for quality control and quality assurance for a set of 2 to 4 projects; by deploying latest processes and materials that are cost-effective, compliant with the quality specifications and best practices in the industry and maintain the set quality standards by adhering to the defined quality guidelines.
• They are also responsible for obtaining necessary quality certifications and approvals from authorities and implementing knowledge management within quality function with the ability to drive analytical insights for optimisation.
• This role is present for projects where the scope of work is INR 1500 crore or more.
• They also need to collaborate with the plants & equipment, planning and operations team to drive quality targets across GRIL.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Framework and Operations – Prepare the plan for lab establishment and the list of quality equipment's required at project site. Ensure implementation of quality procedures and inspection standards to guide the team in developing a robust supplier base while considering capacity, equipment and resource requirements from a mid and long term perspective. Drive suitable quality audits for new supplier selection. Finalise the design mix of materials while ensuring quality standards. Identify new techniques in the space of quality for process and cost optimisation. Maintain knowledge management of existing projects across their region, leveraging insights through analytical tools and techniques to improve quality processes. Facilitate collaboration with experts and knowledge sharing within project sites.
• Quality certifications, compliance and audits – Disseminate the process for review of rejections with the aim to realize cost benefits. Guide team to design and implement suitable counter-measures to deal with quality related issues. Strategize improved guidelines for handling of rejection. Ensure adoption & adherence to the quality guidelines. Guide the team in translating the feedback from the clients/consultants into actions to other delivery functions and departments to prevents recurrence of quality issues. Introduce best practices in the audit, certification and inspection methodologies employed by the team.
• Client Management – Coordinating with the client and consultants and resolving their issues with respect to non-conformance and conformance reports. To ensure the timely and effective preparation, submission and approval of QAP, ITP and work methodologies as per project scope of work, prior to the start of project execution.
• MIS & Reporting – Review and validate the MPRs created at all project sites for all the quality related issues and share the same with the relevant stakeholders.
• People Management - Ensure the capability development for the division through performance management, training and mentoring of teams to drive high performance and engagement and enable achievement of current and future business needs. Guide and monitor teams to review product quality levels through various audits, tests and checks.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with 13-15 years experience in quality

or

• B.Tech/M.Tech with 10-13 years experience in quality

or

• Bachelor of Science/Master of Science (Chemistry) with 14-18 years experience in quality
• Experience in handling quality team across 2 projects with a scope of INR 1000 crore+ value, Experience of latest technologies, materials and quality standards
