Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

  • Manage import customs clearance processes by preparing and submitting accurate documentation required for filing the Bill of Entry.
  • Coordinate with the Customs House Agent (CHA) and provide all relevant documents to ensure timely and smooth customs clearance.
  • Identify correct HSN codes and determine applicable customs duty rates for all imported and exported items.
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge and application of ExportImport policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Prepare and arrange documentation related to export incentives such as Duty Drawback, RoDTEP, Advance License, EPCG License, and other schemes.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for DGFT, Pharmexcil, Customs, and other regulatory authorities in coordination with internal departments.
  • Visit Customs, DGFT, Banks, and Insurance offices to resolve operational issues and ensure process continuity.
  • Submit export documents to bankers for lodgement and follow up for processing and approvals.
  • Coordinate with Banks, CHA, Freight Forwarders, and Shipping Lines to obtain Bank Realization Certificates (BRC) and ensure end-to-end shipment completion.
  • Compile and submit data for pending Proof of Export (PoE) to GST and Customs departments as per requirements.
  • Review Letters of Credit (LC), communicate requirements to customers, and arrange LC amendments as needed.
  • Plan logistics and dispatch schedules in coordination with business requirements and production teams.
  • Review freight quotations from forwarding agencies and negotiate competitive rates.
  • Negotiate with transporters, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to secure efficient and cost-effective services.
  • Review all export documents, ensure compliance, and communicate pre-dispatch requirements to CHA and forwarders.
  • Prepare regular MIS reports related to import/export activities, freight, customs clearance status, and export benefits.
  • Manage insurance processes, including survey coordination and insurance claim applications for damage or loss.
  • Prepare Certificates of Origin and ensure accuracy as per destination country requirements.
  • Keep updated with changes in EXIM policies, DGFT notifications, customs procedures, and international trade regulations.
