Job Summary

Educational Qualification

• Any Graduate, Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Management (preferred).
  
• MBA in Inventory Management, Material Management or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials (like billets, coils, scrap), consumables, tools, and finished goods.
  
• Conduct regular physical stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  
• Implement and monitor FIFO/LIFO inventory practices as applicable.
  

• Material Handling & Storage

• Ensure proper storage of materials to avoid damage, corrosion, or degradation.
  
• Monitor loading/unloading of materials and supervise material movement inside the plant.
  
• Implement best practices for space utilization and safe material handling.
  

• Procurement & Coordination

• Coordinate with the purchase department for timely procurement of materials based on production requirements.
  
• Follow up with vendors and transporters to ensure timely deliveries.
  

• Team Management

• Lead and supervise a team of storekeepers, forklift operators, and helpers.
  
• Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  

• Documentation & SAP

• Maintain all inward/outward records, goods receipts, material issue slips, and gate passes.
  
• Ensure data accuracy in SAP system for all stock entries and transactions is Mandatory.
  

• Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to safety norms in storage and handling operations.
  
• Comply with company policies, ISO standards, and audit requirements.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of steel plant materials (raw and finished).
  
• Strong experience in SAP-based inventory management systems.
  
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Leadership and team management abilities.
  
• Strong coordination and communication skills with internal departments and suppliers.
