Job Description

Industrial Relations (IR):

  • Maintain harmonious employee relations through proactive engagement with unions and workers.
  • Handle union negotiations, long-term settlements (LTS), and participate in collective bargaining processes.
  • Lead disciplinary proceedings in case of misconduct domestic inquiries, charge sheets, suspensions, etc.
  • Manage labour law compliance (Factories Act, ID Act, Payment of Wages Act, ESIC, PF, etc.).
  • Maintain cordial relationships with labour authorities and government bodies (Labour Commissioner, etc.).
  • Conduct regular meetings with shop-floor representatives and workers to resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor contract labour management, wage structure, and working conditions as per compliance.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory and legal requirements related to labour and employment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of statutory registers, licenses, and returns.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for labour law and HR audits.

Human Resources (HR) Functions:

  • Facilitate training & development programs to build capabilities at all levels.
  • Ensure timely performance management processes goal setting, mid-year, and year-end reviews.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives grievance handling, communication forums, welfare activities.
  • Monitor attendance, leaves, and time office functions using HRMS tools.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, audits, and HR documentation requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliances.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, especially with unions.
  • Effective communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Practical knowledge of time office systems.
  • Proactive, organized, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience in handling disciplinary and legal matters.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management / Industrial Relations / Labour Welfare.

Work Environment:

  • Plant/factory-based role with regular interaction on the shop floor.
  • Involves coordination with internal stakeholders (production, maintenance, finance) and external bodies (labour authorities, unions, contractors).
