Job Summary

The Cisco SD-WAN Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and migration of Cisco SD-WAN solutions across medium to large-scale enterprise environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in Cisco SD-WAN technologies, WAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructure, and modern software-defined networking principles. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing network solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect Cisco SD-WAN solutions for enterprise environments.
  • Implement and configure Cisco SD-WAN components including vManage, vSmart, vBond, and edge routers.
  • Lead or support migration projects from legacy WAN systems to Cisco SD-WAN platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN/WAN/WLAN environments.
  • Collaborate with network architects and senior engineers to execute project plans.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices in SD-WAN deployments.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Provide SME-level support during critical incidents and outages.
  • Continuously improve network performance through monitoring, analytics, and automation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise networking, with at least 3+ years in Cisco SD-WAN technologies.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN components and architecture.
  • Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IPsec, QoS, and transport technologies.
  • Experience in designing and deploying SD-WAN networks in large enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting tools and techniques for WAN/LAN/WLAN.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and IPAM.
  • Familiarity with integration of SD-WAN with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with network security tools and concepts (NGFW, SASE, Cisco Umbrella).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team across global stakeholders.
