IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITK DF) is a Section 8, not-for-profit, company established by IIT Kanpur to engage with external stakeholders like Alumni, Corporates, Foundations, and Philanthropists in India and across the globe, and to raise funds to meet its long-term growth aspirations. Such offices are called ‘development offices’ in universities of global repute and usually have a staffing of 1 for every 1,000 alumni.

This role requires a strong execution-oriented project manager capable of handling multi-stakeholder construction and infrastructure projects in a fast-paced development office environment, with high accountability for donor-facing reporting and on the ground delivery.

Responsibilities and Expectations


The Batch fundraising manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of

fundraising campaigns for all batches of alumni from the IIT Kanpur. He/She will work closely to

design and implement fundraising strategies that increase donor participation, retention and giving

levels.


  • Develop and implement fundraising plans for all batches of alumni of IIT Kanpur.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, social media and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni, volunteers, and other key stakeholders to cultivate a culture of giving.
  • Work with the team to set fundraising goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Analyse fundraising results and adjust strategies as needed to ensure success.
  • Develop and maintain a database of alumni donors, ensuring accurate and up-to- date records of all interactions.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, including appeals, newsletter and social media content.
  • Manage volunteer committees and coordinate their efforts to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Participate in donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including events, meetings and personalised outreach.


Desired Profile

- Post-graduate in marketing, communications, non-profit management, or related field.

-At least 6-8 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in managing fundraising campaigns and meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.

- Familiarity with fundraising software and databases.
