Job Description

Department/Unit: Maintenance

Reporting To: Head of Maintenance

Direct Reports: None

Job Purpose/Summary: To plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance activities (preventive, predictive, corrective)

across the plant, optimizing resource utilization, minimizing downtime, and ensuring timely execution of work orders to

support production targets.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Work Order Management: Receive, review, and validate maintenance work requests/orders. Prioritize jobs

based on criticality and impact on production.

Planning: Develop detailed job plans including scope of work, required resources (manpower, tools, materials),

estimated time, and safety precautions for all maintenance tasks.

Scheduling: Create daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules, coordinating with operations for equipment availability and shutdowns.

Resource Coordination: Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure availability of skilled personnel. Liaise with stores for spare parts and external vendors for specialized services.

CMMS Utilization: Maximize the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, history recording, and reporting.

Spare Parts Management: Work closely with the stores team to ensure critical spare parts are available and accounted for before scheduling work.

Cost Estimation: Provide cost estimates for planned maintenance jobs.

Backlog Management: Manage and reduce maintenance backlog effectively.

Shutdown Planning: Play a key role in planning and coordinating major plant shutdowns/turnarounds.

Performance Monitoring: Track and report on planning and scheduling KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, planned vs. unplanned work).

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

Relevant certifications in Maintenance Planning/Scheduling (e.g., CMRP, CPPM) are highly desirable.

Required Experience:

5-8 years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling roles within a heavy process industry.

Strong proficiency in CMMS/EAM software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Oracle EAM).

Required Skills:

Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

Proficiency in CMMS software.

Good understanding of maintenance processes and equipment.

Effective communication and coordination skills.

Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
