Job Title: Maintenance Manager Beverages Industry

Department: Engineering & Maintenance

Reporting to: Factory Manager / Plant Head

Location: Bardoli

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the maintenance and upkeep of all plant machinery, utilities, and equipment in a beverage manufacturing unit, ensuring minimal breakdowns, maximum equipment uptime, safety compliance, and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance:

• Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all production lines, utilities (boilers, chillers, compressors), and packaging machinery.
• Lead the team in troubleshooting and attending to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Ensure quick response and root cause analysis for recurring issues.

2. Utilities & Facility Management:

• Oversee smooth functioning of all utilities — water treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, refrigeration systems, air compressors, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment.
• Monitor and control energy, water, and fuel consumption for cost efficiency.

3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management:

• Maintain optimum inventory of critical spares and consumables to avoid production stoppages.
• Develop vendors for cost-effective and quality spares procurement.

4. Team Management:

• Lead and supervise the maintenance team of engineers, technicians, and fitters.
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and build team capability through training.
• Develop skill matrices and succession plans for key technical positions.

5. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety standards and statutory compliance (electrical, mechanical, pressure vessels, boiler regulations, etc.).
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Implement and maintain TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or similar systems for continuous improvement.

6. Projects & Upgrades:

• Support new projects, installations, and commissioning of new lines or machinery.
• Evaluate equipment upgrades, automation opportunities, and energy-saving initiatives.

7. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain maintenance records, breakdown analysis reports, utility consumption reports, and statutory documents.
• Prepare and present maintenance budgets and cost reports to management.

8. Coordination:

• Coordinate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
• Liaise with external vendors, OEMs, and service providers for AMCs and repairs.

Key Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or relevant field.

Experience:

• 8–15 years of relevant experience in plant maintenance, preferably in the beverage or FMCG manufacturing sector.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of beverage production machinery (filling lines, blow moulders, mixers, carbonators, etc.).
• Hands-on knowledge of utilities like boilers, chillers, ETP, WTP, compressors.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance software and TPM principles.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of safety and statutory compliance requirements.
