Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership & Management:

  Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy aligned with production goals, focusing on predictive and preventive maintenance (PM/PdM) to maximize equipment uptime and product quality. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and planners. Manage the departmental budget, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings. Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintenance operations, such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).

• Dry Room & Critical Environment Stewardship:

  Serve as the primary custodian for the integrity and performance of the Classified Dry Rooms (e.g., ISO 7/Class 10,000 or better). Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all environmental control systems, including desiccant dehumidifiers, HVAC, and pressurization systems, to maintain strict dew point (-40C to -60C) and temperature specifications. Ensure strict adherence to contamination control protocols and procedures.

• Utilities & Facility Management:

  Manage the reliability of all critical plant utilities, including but not limited to: Nitrogen (N2) and Argon (Ar) systems, Chilled Water (CW) plants, Process Cooling Water (PCW), Compressed Air, Clean/Dry Air, Vacuum systems, and exhaust.Ensure uninterrupted power supply and manage relationships with utility providers as needed.Oversee general facility maintenance to support a safe and efficient working environment.

• Production Equipment Maintenance:

  Oversee the maintenance of all production machinery across electrode, cell assembly, and formation & testing processes (e.g., mixers, coaters, calenders, slitters, stackers/winders, electrolyte filling, sealing, formation equipment).Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for chronic equipment failures and quality issues.Manage the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule all maintenance activities, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain accurate work order records.

• Safety & Compliance:

  Champion a culture of "Safety First." Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant safety standards, especially when working with high-voltage systems and hazardous materials.Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Quality Management Systems (e.g., IATF 16949).

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

• 8+ years in industrial maintenance within high-volume automated manufacturing, with 3+ years specifically in lithium-ion cell production.

• Hands-on experience managing lithium-ion processes (coating, calendaring, assembly) and critical dry room environments (e.g., ISO 7).
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing multidisciplinary teams of 10+ technicians and engineers.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing OPEX/CAPEX budgets and spare parts inventory.
• Expertise in implementing and driving Predictive (PdM) and Preventive (PM) maintenance programs.
• Proficient in using CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo) for work orders, scheduling, and inventory control.
• Skilled in leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, NEC) and LOTO procedures in a high-hazard environment.
• Experience in a rapid-scale environment managing new equipment installations and commissioning (Greenfield/Brownfield projects).
