Job Description

Role Overview: As a Maintenance Incharge in the catering industry with multi-kitchen operations, your mission is to ensure the seamless, safe, and efficient operation of all kitchen equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure. Your responsibilities include developing and overseeing preventive maintenance programs, managing the maintenance team, troubleshooting critical systems, and ensuring operational excellence and compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for critical kitchen equipment and facility systems. - Manage the annual maintenance budget and prioritize repairs and upgrades. - Lead, mentor, and schedule the maintenance team to ensure adequate coverage. - Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities using a CMMS. - Possess in-depth knowledge of maintaining industrial catering boilers, motors, exhaust systems, refrigeration units, and processing equipment. - Execute and supervise scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns. - Respond urgently to equipment failures, diagnose faults, and coordinate with external vendors when necessary. - Maintain optimal inventory levels of spare parts and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. - Train kitchen staff and maintenance technicians on equipment operation and safety protocols. - Communicate effectively with kitchen managers and operations management regarding maintenance schedules and critical issues. - Prepare regular reports on maintenance performance, downtime analysis, and cost tracking. Qualification Required: - Education: ITI (Electrical/Mechanical/Fitter) Diploma or equivalent. A Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is highly preferred. - Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in the hospitality/catering industry or a similar industrial setting. - Technical Skills: Deep practical knowledge of industrial boilers, electric motors, kitchen exhaust systems, refrigeration units, and processing equipment. Strong fundamentals in mechanical and electrical systems. - Certifications: Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) certificate, refrigeration handling certificate, CMRP or similar, and electrical license are highly desirable. - Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills. Basic computer literacy is required. Additional Details: The role requires working in hot, humid, noisy industrial kitchen environments with frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces. On-call availability for emergencies outside normal hours, travel between multiple kitchen locations, and full-time, permanent employment are expected.
