What we are looking for

Role: Mainframes Batch Jobs Maintenance and Administration

Experience Range: 6 – 10 Years

Location: Bangalore/Chennai/Hyderabad/Indore/Pune

Must Have:

1. In depth knowledge in JCL, scheduling package knowledge/Stonebranch UAC, mainframe console operations/IPL, and batch processing
2. Familiar with enterprise ticketing system (Remedy).
3. Monitoring LPARS and respond to system alerts o Familiar with Splunk monitoring tool or equivalent
4. Demonstrated troubleshooting, diagnose and resolve problems.
5. Familiar with IBM mainframe hardware – CEC, director, channel extender, DASD, tape.
6. Familiar with DB2
7. Demonstrates ability to interact with vendors – open/follow up on service calls.
8. Demonstrated ability log in to multiple domains/systems.
9. Demonstrated ability to perform basic scripting, run scripts/jobs, interpret/understand basic scripts.
10. Demonstrated ability to perform basic command line skills, navigate Remote Desktop sessions, multitask within different environments simultaneously.
11. Familiarity with Windows and z/OS required, Linux and z/VM preferred.
12. Understanding of a Sysplex environment.
13. Understanding of the IPL process and HMC.
14. Understanding of JES including commands.
15. Understanding of IOF and Sysview or equivalent software to view system/job output and logs.
16. Understanding of the TSO/ISPF environment.
17. Demonstrate ability to perform a stand-alone dump (SADump) or SVC console dump.
18. Demonstrate ability to reply to WTORs.
19. Familiarity with CMOD or an equivalent product used for output/report archival.
20. Understanding of MQ components – queue manager, queue, channel, listener
21. Familiarity with MQ management tools – MQ Explorer, MQMon
22. Demonstrate ability to view/terminate a DB2 utility
23. Demonstrate ability to view/terminate a DB2 thread o Understanding of a CICSPlex
24. Demonstrate how to stop/start a region
25. Demonstrate how to start/purge/force a transaction
26. Batch Job Scheduling
27. Understanding of ESP or and equivalent job scheduler
28. Familiarity with JCL and scheduling jobs
29. Demonstrate ability to work through space abends (SB37, SD37, SE37)
30. Demonstrate ability to work in multiple OS environment
31. Demonstrate ability to submit jobs, remediate failed jobs, investigate long running jobs
32. Understanding of DFSMS
33. Familiarity with VSAM o Understanding of data mirroring (XRC, PPRC)
34. Familiarity with basic networking concepts
35. Familiarity with TPX
36. Understanding of business to business connections
37. Familiarity with Netmaster or an equivalent product
38. Familiarity with Outbound

1. Well organized with ability to multi-task and work with minimum supervision with quick learning skills.
2. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues

Essentail:

• Ability to upskill and track learning progress of team
• Ability to attend / present weekly, monthly reports to clients
• Familiar with enterprise ticketing system (Remedy).

Minimum Qualification:

•15 years of full-time education

•Minimum percentile of 50% in 10th, 12th, UG & PG (if applicable)
