Job Description: Sound Knowledge on RedHat Linux Enterprise edition with excellent Troubleshooting skills Good Understanding of OS virtualization is a MUST Enterprise Level experience in Production Environment (24X7 support exposure) Good trouble shooting knowledge - OS and Hardware. Quickly solve frequent system problems Datacenter/Remote System administration skills Good knowledge and troubleshooting skill in LVM Good knowledge of multipath and troubleshooting Good knowledge in ssh, password less logins keygen etc. Hands on experience in VMware and Cisco UCS blades is a plus. Good understanding of enterprise level Tools & processes like Change Management, Incident management, etc. Good knowledge in ticketing tools like ESP ServiceNow. Good knowledge in alert handling. Excellent written, verbal communication and Interpersonal skills Deep dive into the issue and RCA preparation Detailed knowledge of networking principals: TCP/IP, Routing, DNS Good Experience on handling Performance related issues on OS. Understanding of Cloud Computing Knowledge of ITIL framework/methodology would be an advantage Must be familiar with OS upgrades/Patching Primary skill in Linux System Administration (Red Hat) & secondary skill in at least one more flavor - HP-UX/Solaris. Must have managed hosts in Oracle DB/Apps environment. High level of skill with most operating system commands/utilities & familiarity with basic system administration and understanding of larger system management tools. Understanding of a server-based operating system is a must; for example, kernel configurations, understands system designs and hardware configurations. with little/no help. Can solve some complex and inter-system problems without help, others with some help. Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (python, Perl, shell). Ability to repair, reconfigure and install servers/clusters. Ability to work with users to detail service delivery requirements and system functionality. Ability to work closely with DBAs, client teams and management ensuring that systems are managed per established service level agreements. Ability to manage cases to resolution, refresh/copy databases and manage/coordinate data backup. Moderate to minimal supervisory input on complex new assignments. Interaction with client teams and some vendors. Exercises judgment within defined standards and consults with SMEs & management. Works under the general supervision of a Project lead/manager.
