Job Description

Job Summary:

The Lift Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all lift systems while adhering to company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:1. Installation & Commissioning

  • Install new lifts/elevators as per technical drawings and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components (car frames, guide rails, motors, control panels, etc.).
  • Conduct wiring, adjustments, and final testing before handover.
  • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and smooth ride quality.

2. Maintenance & Servicing

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance as per schedule.
  • Inspect and lubricate components like doors, guide rails, ropes, and brakes.
  • Replace worn-out parts and ensure lifts operate safely and efficiently.
  • Record maintenance activities in service logs.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues in lifts.
  • Respond to breakdown calls and restore operation promptly.
  • Test safety devices, emergency alarms, and rescue systems.
  • Coordinate with the technical manager for major repairs or part replacements.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies while on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with lift safety standards and statutory regulations.
  • Educate building staff/customers on safe lift usage.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and parts used.
  • Submit daily/weekly reports to the supervisor.
  • Update AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) service history.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in lift installation or maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of elevator mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer-handling ability.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based role involving travel to multiple sites.
  • May require working during odd hours for breakdowns or emergencies.
  • Must adhere to PPE and safety standards.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with brands such as Otis, Kone, Schindler, or local elevator manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with MRL (Machine Room Less) and gearless technology.
  • Basic knowledge of VFDs and control panels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
