Job description: Lift Technician – Elevators (Installation & Commissioning)
Location: Fort, Mumbai
Salary Range: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month
Department: Field Technical Team – Installation & Commissioning
Employment Type: Full-time

We are now strengthening our Mumbai operations with a dedicated Lift Technician, who will ensure safe, precise, and timely installation and commissioning of elevators at client sites.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning (Daily)

  • Install elevator components (rails, car frame, doors, wiring, fixtures, etc.) as per approved drawings and company SOPs.
  • Support commissioning activities including adjustment, testing, and fine-tuning of lift operations.
  • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and smooth ride quality as per company standards.
  • Use structured checklists for each stage of installation and commissioning and close tasks systematically.

Site Readiness & Coordination (Daily/As Required)

  • Check basic site readiness (shaft condition, power availability, pit and machine room readiness) before starting work.
  • Coordinate with the Project / Installation Manager for work sequencing and material availability.
  • Escalate civil, electrical, or safety issues that can impact installation progress or quality.

Customer & Site Conduct

  • Interact politely and professionally with builders, consultants, site engineers, and facility teams.
  • Communicate clearly about work status, timelines, and any safety-related instructions for using the elevator.
  • Maintain site discipline: secure tools, keep the work area clean, and avoid disturbance to building occupants.

Documentation & FieldCircle (FC) Updates (Daily)

  • Record daily tasks, job status, and time spent at each site on FieldCircle (or equivalent task software).
  • Update installation and commissioning checklists, trial reports, and site remarks accurately.
  • Log material usage, pending work, and additional parts required for each project.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all Gilco Global safety norms, including PPE usage and safe work-at-height practices.
  • Ensure that safety interlocks, limit switches, and protections are functional before any trial runs or handover.
  • Report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and near-miss incidents to the Reporting Manager in a timely manner.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting Support (As Required)

  • Support preventive maintenance or breakdown calls for newly installed lifts when assigned.
  • Identify common faults, carry out basic rectifications, and coordinate with senior technicians for complex issues.

Requirements

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical (preferred).
  • 2–4 years’ experience in elevator installation, commissioning, or service.
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with tools and instruments used in lift installation and testing.
  • Familiarity with mobile-based reporting tools such as FieldCircle (or equivalent).
  • Strong focus on safety, discipline, and documentation.
  • Willingness to work on-site at different project locations in and around Mumbai.
