Lift Technician

Role & responsibilities

1. Installation

• Install new lift and escalator systems according to technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
  
• Assemble lift components such as motors, control panels, wiring, and safety devices.
  
• Ensure installations comply with local building and safety codes.
  

2. Maintenance

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth and safe operation.
  
• Lubricate moving parts, adjust cables, replace worn components, and test systems for performance.
  
• Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs.
  

3. Repairs & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose faults, mechanical failures, or electrical malfunctions.
  
• Replace or repair defective parts, including doors, motors, and control systems.
  
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and restore lift service promptly.
  

4. Testing & Inspection

• Perform safety inspections and operational tests in compliance with regulations.
  
• Calibrate and test emergency systems, brakes, and alarms.
  
• Prepare reports on system condition and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.
  

5. Safety & Compliance

• Follow safety procedures and regulations (e.g., local electrical codes, occupational safety standards).
  
• Ensure all lift systems meet performance and safety standards.
  
• Report any hazards or safety violations to supervisors or authorities.
  

6. Customer Service & Communication

• Communicate with clients or building managers about issues, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
  
• Provide technical advice or training to users on proper lift operation.
  

7. Documentation

• Maintain detailed records of service activities, parts used, and system performance.
  
• Prepare technical reports and maintenance documentation for regulatory compliance.
