Field Technician

As a Field Technician at Gilco Global, you will be responsible for managing the entire technical lifecycle of elevator systems, ranging from the installation and commissioning processes to ongoing maintenance and service activities. Your role will be crucial in upholding the company's dedication to safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction at various project sites and occupied buildings. In your position, you will have the following key responsibilities: Installation & Commissioning: - Installing lift systems following OEM and safety standards, including rails, cabin, motor, and wiring. - Executing electrical wiring, shaft work, and mechanical assembly. - Conducting full commissioning tasks such as panel configuration, testing, and safety validations. - Collaborating with sales, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure timely project execution. - Supporting final inspection processes and preparing client handover documentation. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: - Performing scheduled preventive maintenance visits for installed lifts. - Responding to breakdown calls, identifying faults, and executing repairs promptly. - Ensuring adherence to safety devices and emergency operations protocols. - Replacing worn-out parts and maintaining service logs through mobile applications like FieldCircle. Site Reporting & Documentation: - Maintaining accurate daily logs, service checklists, and commissioning sheets. - Documenting all work performed, including materials used and client approvals. - Coordinating the handover process between installation and AMC/service teams. Customer & Team Interaction: - Serving as a professional point of contact for clients during installation and service phases. - Effectively communicating issues, timelines, and resolutions to clients. - Coordinating with internal service coordinators and supervisors. - Educating clients on basic lift operation and maintenance post-installation. Safety, Quality & Compliance: - Adhering to all personal protective equipment (PPE) and site-specific safety regulations. - Ensuring that all tasks align with relevant standards such as IS code, EN81, OEM specifications, and company SOPs. - Reporting any hazards or non-conformities promptly. Qualifications: - Education: ITI/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical. - Experience: Minimum of 1-4 years (Experience in the lift industry preferred, freshers with internship experience can also apply). - Technical Knowledge: - Proficiency in installation and wiring of lift components. - Ability to troubleshoot microprocessor-based control systems. - Familiarity with lift safety devices, relays, door sensors, and emergency protocols. Key Skills: - Strong discipline in site management and documentation. - Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in electrical fault analysis. - Basic proficiency in using digital reporting tools like FieldCircle or similar platforms. - Excellent communication skills for client interactions. - Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
