Job Description


Salary: Upto 30K**Job Brief:**Deliver employability, life, IT, and financial literacy skills training to empower youth for employment or further education. Support youths in achieving their goals through the Magic Bus Livelihood Skills Training Programme. Create training pathways, including life skills, employability, IT, and vocational training, to help them reach their career objectives.**Responsibilities:**- Conduct a structured induction for each group starting the Livelihood Programme.- Oversee all training in Livelihood Centres, including skills training and support for job placements and further education.- Implement Sports for Development activities using the Magic Bus curriculum to engage and enhance learning.- Deliver and tailor training content developed by the Magic Bus Programme Development Team to local contexts.- Ensure training outcomes are consistently achieved and aligned with session goals.- Design and update a Livelihood Centre training timetable with the Centre Coordinator to ensure access to necessary training.- Develop innovative, interactive training techniques to enhance effectiveness and engagement.- Perform comprehensive 1:1 needs assessments with youth to identify their strengths, limitations, and targets.- Collaborate with the Centre Coordinator or career counsellors to provide impartial guidance for career decisions.- Lead initial youth engagement with the Magic Bus Livelihood Programme and ensure they receive comprehensive support.- Assist youth in creating and pursuing Personal Development Plans with defined training activities and targets.- Support the achievement of training, mentoring, and employer activities outlined in Personal Development Plans, coordinating with Placement and Partnership Officers.- Manage mentor matching and support mentors in their roles.- Motivate youth and ensure they follow their weekly timetables and attend correct sessions.- Focus on successful youth placements, training, or further education, ensuring sustainability for at least six months.- Map local institutions offering skills training opportunities and monitor youth attendance and progress.- Identify and address risks of youth dropping out of the programme.- Build strong, trusting relationships with youth from the outset.- Collaborate with community colleagues for effective youth mobilization and criteria implementation.- Work with district and regional colleagues to continuously improve the programme’s quality and safety.- Conduct data collection and reporting to demonstrate the programme’s effectiveness.- Serve as a role model, demonstrating behaviors essential for success in chosen fields.- Support community mobilization and assist in mapping areas.**Desired Competencies:**- Build positive relationships with youth, motivating them to achieve work or education goals.- Communicate effectively in local language and English, ensuring training outcomes are met.- Lead structured sessions and consistently follow standard operating procedures and Magic Bus tools.- Work well in a team with strong oral and written communication skills in local language and English.- Exhibit a proactive attitude and problem-solving skills.- Manage time effectively and stay organized.- Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.- Conduct sensitive needs assessments to identify personal strengths and limitations.- Collect and process data to meet programme key performance indicators.**Qualification:**- Bachelor’s degree in any field.- Degree/Diploma in a specific domain is a plus.- Minimum 1.5 year of experience working with disadvantaged youth (18-25) with positive outcomes.- Experience in delivering employability and life skills training.- Skills in training session planning, evaluation, and adaptation to local contexts.- Knowledge of Sports Development or experiential learning techniques (desirable).
