Job Description

Librarian – Hanumant High School (CBSE), Mahuva

Key Responsibilities

Organise, classify, and maintain the library collection, including books, magazines, and digital resources
Assist students and teachers in locating and using reference materials
Manage the issue and return of books and maintain accurate library records
Ensure a quiet, disciplined, and welcoming environment for reading and study
Plan and support reading programmes, book displays, and library-based activities
Monitor the condition of books and arrange for repair or replacement as needed
Maintain an updated catalogue and assist in procurement of new books and resources
Guide students on effective usage of library resources and develop reading habits

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Library Science)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
Basic computer literacy and familiarity with library management systems (preferred)
