ART & Design Teacher

Grades: Grade 1 to Grade VIII Curriculum: IGCSE (Cambridge International) Location: Kanakia International School Bhayander Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and creative Art and Design Teacher to inspire students from Grades 1 to VIII in developing artistic skills, creativity, and visual expression in alignment with the Cambridge (IGCSE) curriculum . The ideal candidate should be able to integrate modern and traditional art techniques, foster artistic exploration, and prepare students for internal assessments and foundational work that may lead into the IGCSE Art & Design stream in higher grades. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging art lessons in line with IGCSE curriculum frameworks and school standards. Teach a range of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art. Foster creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation of visual arts across all grade levels. Organize classroom displays, exhibitions, and art events to showcase student work. Assess and document student progress, provide feedback, and maintain records of achievement. Promote safe and effective use of art materials and equipment. Collaborate with other faculty members and participate in interdisciplinary projects. Support students in art competitions, clubs, and extracurricular initiatives. Contribute to the overall aesthetic and cultural development of the school environment. Qualifications And Skills Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or related field. Teaching certification or diploma in education (preferably with a focus on international curricula). Prior teaching experience in an IGCSE or international school setting is preferred. Strong portfolio showcasing artistic and teaching ability. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet varied learning needs. Passion for art education and student development. Experience conducting virtual/online art classes if needed.
