Key Responsibilities

• Organize, manage, and maintain the school library, including books, digital resources, and reference materials.
• Assist students and teachers in locating and effectively using library resources.
• Maintain a cataloguing and classification system for all library materials.
• Promote reading habits and encourage use of the library through activities, book clubs, and events.
• Guide students on research skills, reference techniques, and responsible use of information.
• Ensure an updated collection of academic, reference, and recreational reading materials in line with CBSE curriculum requirements.
• Implement and monitor library rules and ensure a conducive environment for study and research.
• Maintain records of issued/returned books and track overdue items.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom learning.
• Manage budget and procurement of new books and resources.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a librarian in a school setting preferred.
• Familiarity with library management systems and digital resources.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage students of different age groups.
• Passion for books, reading, and knowledge-sharing.
