Position Summary:
The Legal Operations Associate will provide day-to-day support to the Legal Department. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate legal records, tracking contract lifecycles, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external partners. This position also assists in compliance, due diligence, and process improvement activities to strengthen overall legal operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Contract Management Tracking
- Prepare and file legal and corporate documents with internal systems.
- Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical records of legal files, contracts, and correspondence.
- Assist in maintaining the company s contract clause and term trackers to ensure consistency and compliance across agreements.
- Monitor contract lifecycles, including signature routing, renewals, expirations, and obligations tracking.
- Coordinate contract requests between internal stakeholders and the Legal Department.
Workflow Coordination
- Triage incoming legal requests and allocate them appropriately within the Legal Department.
- Maintain visibility over team workload and support the allocation of tasks or resources to optimize turnaround times.
- Serve as a liaison between the Legal Department and other internal departments.
Department Support
- Support legal due diligence, audit, and compliance documentation efforts.
- Liaise with external counsel and vendors as needed for document collection or coordination.
- Provide administrative support within the Legal Department.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline legal operations.
Required Abilities and Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with document management tools (e.g., Contract Wrangler, SharePoint, Salesforce).
- Experience using ticketing or request management systems (e.g., JIRA, Asana) to log, assign, and track tasks and legal requests.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of legal document types is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or corporate administrative environment preferably within a legal department or law firm.
