Job Summary:

The ideal candidate is commercially minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced business environment. We are seeking an individual with 12 to 15 years of post-qualification experience in general corporate law. This experience should include, but is not limited to, commercial contract negotiations (both purchasing and selling), managing HR and employment matters, assisting the global compliance team with the enforcement of processes and management of compliance in the region, handling dispute and litigation management, overseeing external counsel engagements, and involvement in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision, manage a small team, and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow within an expanding organization. A keen interest in the electronics manufacturing industry is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive experience in dealing with general corporate matters that include, without limitation, cross-border commercial transactions with a strong understanding of emerging international contracting trends, managing regulatory and contractual compliance requirements (e.g. experience in managing Export Control compliance), dispute and litigation management, HR/employment matters, and M&A.
  • Reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including outsourced service agreements, vendor agreements, partnership agreements and reseller agreements.
  • Managing, supervising and mentoring a small team of junior counsels in drafting and reviewing proposals, responding to RFPs, etc.
  • Drafting policies and procedures to ensure legal best practice.
  • Managing disputes
  • Analyzing legal issues and commercial risks, presenting clear recommendations to ensure legal compliance.
  • Collaborating with support functions across the business, including Operations, HR, Finance, Risk and IT Security.

  • Mentoring, managing and developing talent.
  • Commitment to expanding business, legal and technical skills.
  • Develop policies, procedures and guidelines to further the requirements of the compliance arm under Legal.
  • Oversee organization of legal files and materials so that they are easily accessed and retrieved without compromising the confidentiality or privacy of the information they contain.
