Job Description

The role focuses on managing legal risk, supporting strategic business growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance across Branch Banking, Collections, SAM, and other business verticals.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Risk Management

Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across business operations.
Develop and implement legal frameworks, policies, and controls.
Support strategic business decisions through proactive legal guidance.

Litigation & Case Handling

Manage litigation including consumer cases, civil disputes, and employee-related matters.
Oversee recovery-related legal processes including
SARFAESI
,
DRT
, and
insolvency proceedings
.
Handle fraud matters, coordinate FIRs and complaints with authorities.

Business Partnering

Provide day-to-day legal support to
Branch Banking (NDS), Collections, and SAM
teams.
Review procedures, products, and new initiatives to ensure legal risk is minimized.

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, banking laws, and regulatory requirements.
Implement Legal Risk standards across business teams.

External Counsel Management

Manage external legal advisors, evaluate performance, and control cost.
Review legal opinions, documents, and negotiations to ensure quality and consistency.

Knowledge, Training & Best Practices

Stay updated on Indian laws and regulatory developments.
Train business teams on legal matters and risk management.
Share knowledge with global/local legal teams.
