Lease Accountant

Role Overview: You will be responsible for managing all aspects of lease accounting in compliance with IFRS 116 and other applicable standards at Altius, a leading telecom infrastructure platform in India. Your role will involve recording, analyzing, and reporting lease transactions while ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Record and maintain lease transactions in accordance with IFRS 116 and company policies. - Prepare journal entries for lease-related activities, including straight-line rent, contingent rent, and asset retirement obligations. - Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements. - Prepare quarterly and annual reports related to lease obligations and disclosures. - Perform account reconciliations for lease-related general ledger accounts. - Support month-end and year-end close processes. - Review and abstract lease agreements, amendments, and terminations. - Maintain master lease files and ensure accurate data entry in lease management systems. - Coordinate with landlords, vendors, and internal departments for lease-related matters. - Perform variance analysis on lease expenses and rental income. - Assist in budgeting and forecasting lease-related costs. - Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis for management. Qualification Required: - Education: - Qualified Chartered Accountant - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). - Experience: - 3 years of accounting experience (lease accounting experience is preferable). - Skills: - Strong knowledge of IFRS and IGAAP and lease accounting standards. - Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft). - Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
