Lease Accountant

The Lease Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of lease accounting in compliance with) IFRS 116 and other applicable standards. This role involves recording, analyzing, and reporting lease transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lease Accounting & Compliance

• Record and maintain lease transactions in accordance with IFRS 116 and company policies.
• Prepare journal entries for lease-related activities, including straight-line rent, contingent rent, and asset retirement obligations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.

• Financial Reporting

• Prepare quarterly and annual reports related to lease obligations and disclosures.
• Perform account reconciliations for lease-related general ledger accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.

• Lease Administration

• Review and abstract lease agreements, amendments, and terminations.
• Maintain master lease files and ensure accurate data entry in lease management systems.
• Coordinate with landlords, vendors, and internal departments for lease-related matters.

• Analysis & Support

• Perform variance analysis on lease expenses and rental income.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting lease-related costs.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis for management.

Qualifications

• Education:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

• Experience:

• 2-4 years of accounting experience (lease accounting experience is a preferable).

• Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and IGAAP and lease accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g.,SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft,).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
