Lead Specialist Accounting

Role Overview: You will be joining Target, a Fortune 50 company with over 400,000 team members globally, as a part of the Target India team in Bengaluru. Your role will involve maintaining financial integrity, internal controls, operational efficiency, handling audits, system assessments, special projects, and transitions. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain Financial Integrity - Prepare and review various journal entries accurately and in a timely manner. - Ensure month-end activities are closed on time and accurately. - Upload daily cash collections and apply them correctly. - Prepare accurate and complete invoicing for Salvage Customers. - Process credit notes. - Monitor Inbox & SharePoint, acknowledging every request within the defined time frame. - Internal Controls - Analyze account balances and activities to identify risks and implement corrective controls. - Conduct process reviews to identify control deficiencies and implement corrective strategies. - Operational Efficiency - Prepare, analyze, and report metrics for management reporting. - Identify process improvement ideas to enhance operational efficiencies and control environment. - Share and implement best practices in Finance. - Conduct training and evaluations for new and existing team members. - Audit - Act as a single point of contact for statutory/internal audit engagements and ensure compliance with requests promptly. - Systems - Assess the impact of system changes/upgrades and collaborate with technical teams as needed. - Projects and Transitions - Collaborate on special projects and transitions as part of cross-functional teams. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in GL/R2R or Audit. - Hands-on experience in SAP. - Working knowledge of SOX controls and US GAAP. - Project planning, multi-tasking, and presentation skills are essential. - Transition experience in GL activities or other accounting processes is preferred. - Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines and manage pressure effectively. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and decision-making skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Additional Details: The role reports to the Target India Accounting Manager and involves working relationships with the Minneapolis and India Accounting teams. Desired requirements include experience in Retail accounting and knowledge of US GAAP Accounting standards.,
