Role Description

Job Title: Node.js Developer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on backend development and enhancement of web applications, with a strong emphasis on RESTful API development and cloud-based architecture. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong multi-tasker, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
  • Provide advanced-level support (L3) by resolving complex technical issues and performing detailed root cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with various AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure efficient data operations.
  • Implement secure API access mechanisms including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization methods.
  • Monitor and improve application performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and incident reports.
  • Follow Agile development practices and participate in regular sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Primary Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js for backend development.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and backend components.
  • In-depth experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • Practical knowledge of AWS Cloud Services, particularly:
    • Lambda
    • API Gateway
    • SQS/SNS
    • DynamoDB
    • IAM
    • S3
    • CloudWatch
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
  • Version control using Git and platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
  • Strong troubleshooting and L3 support capabilities for production environments.

Secondary Skills

  • Experience with API security protocols such as OAuth, JWT, etc.
  • Exposure to serverless architecture and patterns.
  • Familiarity with API monitoring and documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI, AWS X-Ray.
  • Understanding of software design principles, including OOP and MVC.
  • Knowledge of system design concepts and architecture planning.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Iterative Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Understanding of web standards and best practices.

Good To Have Skills

  • AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS).
  • Exposure to front-end integration challenges and workflows.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks for backend APIs.
