Lead Embedded Engineer

As the Lead Embedded Engineer at our dynamic drone technology startup, you will have the opportunity to lead and inspire a team of engineers to create cutting-edge drone systems, hardware, and software solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the complete product development lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, maintain high-quality standards, and are in line with our business objectives. This role calls for a unique combination of technical expertise, hands-on troubleshooting abilities, and adept people management skills within an agile startup environment dedicated to advancing drone technology. You will be tasked with providing technical leadership and driving the product vision, fostering team leadership and building a positive culture, managing projects with an agile approach, ensuring quality assurance and compliance with regulations, and collaborating effectively with stakeholders through clear communication. To excel in this role, you should possess at least 6 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position. Your expertise should encompass UAV/drone technology, embedded systems, and sensor integration. A deep-seated passion for innovation and a proactive, hands-on mentality are essential, as well as experience in Agile project management and a strong startup mindset. Your technical skills should include a solid understanding of drone/UAV systems, covering aspects like flight control, autonomy, and navigation. Proficiency in hardware and software integration, sensor systems, embedded systems, and RF communications is crucial. Additionally, you should be well-versed in the regulations and safety standards relevant to drones and unmanned aerial vehicles. In terms of leadership skills, you must have a proven track record of effectively managing and motivating engineering teams within a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Your project management capabilities should include hands-on experience in Agile methodologies and a history of successfully delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects on time. Soft skills such as exceptional communication and organizational abilities will be key in simplifying complex concepts for various stakeholders. Preferred skills for this role include familiarity with programming languages like Python, C++, and embedded systems for drones, as well as experience with machine learning and computer vision, particularly in relation to object detection, tracking, or autonomous navigation. Knowledge of flight control systems, GPS, IMU, and sensor fusion techniques will be advantageous in this role.,
