Lead Electrical System

Purpose/Objective

The BESS Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for Battery Energy Storage projects. This role involves working on grid-connected and off-grid energy storage solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing system performance.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Develop and design electrical drawings including single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for battery storage systems, including MV/HV - Expertise in electrical system design, system studies, relay coordination, protection & control, grounding practices, HV and LV design. - Component selection and Carry out background calculations for sizing and rating. - Perform electrical calculations including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination. - Select and specify electrical components such as transformers, switchgear, inverters, and protection devices. - Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.). - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated system design. - Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of BESS systems. - Prepare technical documentation, reports, and drawings for project execution. - Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in energy storage systems.

Technical Competencies

Strong knowledge of battery technologies, power electronics, and grid integration.,Proficiency in electrical design software (ETAP, AutoCAD, MATLAB, etc.).,Familiarity with SCADA systems and communication protocols.,Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.)

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). - 8 to 10 years of experience in electrical design for power systems or renewable energy projects.
