Lead Counsel - Litigation

As the Lead Counsel, Litigation at Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited), reporting to the Senior Lead Counsel, Litigation and Distribution, your role involves providing legal and litigation-related support to the business. Your responsibilities include: - Drafting legal notices, responses, and communications - Reviewing, finalizing, and filing proceedings before various forums such as Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, TDSAT, Magistrates Court, and others - Liaising with Advocates on Record for timely filing of pleadings, updates on matters, discussions for effective progress, etc. - Briefing Senior Counsels and Counsels for litigations involving the Company - Coordinating with different departments for information collation on relevant issues - Keeping stakeholders informed on litigation developments - Proactively discussing legal issues and providing solutions - Assisting in strategically driving material litigations involving the Company - Ensuring timely updates of matters and pleadings on the company's systems/software - Handling litigation matters filed by or against the Company - Responding to and pursuing insurance claims under media liability policy and/or director and officers policy Qualifications and Experience required: - Law Graduate. LL.M preferred - 10-15 years of post-qualification experience - Experience in mid to large-sized Corporates or Law Firms with Telecom, Media, and Broadcasting clients Key Competencies: - Good drafting and communication skills - Quick learner with a proactive approach - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Ability to work within timelines and multitask effectively - Team player with sound understanding of law Desirable Aptitudes: - Learning and researching skills - Delivering results and meeting customer expectations - Leading and supervising when necessary - Applying expertise and technology effectively Your role as Lead Counsel, Litigation requires adherence to principles, persuading and influencing stakeholders, and effectively presenting information.
