Lead Buyer (Mechanical Bulk)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead procurement strategy for

  mechanical bulk packages

  in alignment with project schedule and budget.
• Float RFQs, conduct techno-commercial bid evaluations, and finalize contracts with global and regional vendors.
  
• Develop and manage vendor base for

  mechanical bulk materials

  , ensuring quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Negotiate best commercial terms while ensuring technical adherence and long-term supplier partnerships.
  
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, and QA/QC for seamless procurement integration.
  
• Ensure strict adherence to

  EPC procurement standards, Incoterms, and logistics requirements

  for overseas sourcing.
• Mitigate risks by proactive expediting, supplier performance monitoring, and corrective action plans.
  
• Lead, mentor, and guide a small team of procurement engineers for execution efficiency.
  
• Drive digitalization and reporting through ERP/Procurement systems.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

  (mandatory).

• 1620 years of procurement experience

  in EPC / Oil & Gas / Gas Plant / Petrochemical / Refinery projects.
• Strong exposure to

  mechanical bulk procurement

  (structural, piping, valves, tanks, fittings, consumables).
• Proven track record in

  vendor development, global sourcing, contract negotiation, and project procurement execution

  .
• Familiarity with

  Incoterms, customs clearance, and international logistics

  .
• ERP experience (SAP / Oracle / Primavera Procurement modules) preferred.
  
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
