Lead Backend Engineer

As a Team Lead - Backend in Mumbai, your role involves developing and maintaining backend libraries/codebase and database. You will be responsible for building a modular and robust backend system that can communicate with multiple front-end applications. Collaboration with the product manager, designer, and development team is essential to develop best-in-class web/mobile applications. Your duties also include optimizing APIs, database queries, and other components for quick application response and designing a scalable structure following OOP principles. Evaluating competitive products and innovative approaches to identify best practices and encourage innovation is part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will mentor team members. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain backend libraries/codebase and database - Build a modular and robust backend system for multiple front-end applications - Collaborate with product manager, designer, and development team - Optimize APIs, database queries, and other components for quick application response - Design a scalable structure following OOP principles - Evaluate competitive products and innovative approaches - Mentor team members Qualifications Required: - Hands-on experience in at least one modern scripting language like Ruby, Python, or NodeJS - Proficiency in MVC frameworks such as Rails, Django, or Express - Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Gitlab - Strong SQL skills and familiarity with PostgreSQL - Ability to code server-side applications with atomicity and code reusability principles - Basic understanding of AWS - Good knowledge of using Git version control system and deployment via Git - Strong *nix skills - Experience with Kubernetes and NewRelic To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of backend development experience in a product company, working on high availability and load applications in a distributed environment. A degree in computer science or a related field from a reputed institute is required. Additionally, completing a diploma or online courses on related backend technologies is a plus.,
