Laytime and Invoice Operator – Pune

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare charter party documents, hire statements, freight invoices, and commission invoices.
• Monitor and follow up on daily laytime operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform demurrage calculations focused on optimizing profit and maintaining high service standards.
• Collaborate closely with operations desks, marine coordinators, credit control, and accounting teams regarding freight, laytime, and commercial claims.
• Monitor port disbursement accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve general hire-related claims, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Handle routine operational issues under supervision and assist in additional duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proficient with standard computer tools such as MS Word, Excel, and data management systems.
• At least 1 year of core experience in laytime calculations and coordination with vessel operations within a reputed marine or shipping company.
  

Preferred Background

• Familiarity with administrative tasks specific to the shipping or commodity business.
• Candidates must have a marine or shipping industry background.
