Job Description

The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing routine laboratory tests, preparing samples, operating diagnostic equipment, and ensuring accuracy and reliability of results. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with doctors, patients, and other medical staff. Key Responsibilities:Collect, label, and process blood, urine, and other biological samples. Conduct routine and specialized diagnostic tests (biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, pathology, etc.). Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensure quality control and calibration of machines. Record, analyze, and interpret test results accurately. Maintain proper documentation and patient records. Follow all safety and infection control guidelines. Assist in stock management of reagents and consumables. Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and patients for smooth lab operations. Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and medical testing. Familiarity with automated analyzers and modern diagnostic machines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. Computer literacy for handling lab reports and data entry. Qualifications:Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT) or equivalent. Certification and registration (as per local health authority guidelines). Prior experience in diagnostic labs, hospitals, or healthcare centers preferred.
