Job Description

Job Summary:

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing various laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The technician ensures proper sample collection, handling, testing, and reporting in compliance with established laboratory standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, stool, sputum, etc.) for testing.
  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record keeping of test results and quality control data.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain quality assurance practices.
  • Prepare reagents, stains, and other laboratory solutions as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the laboratory.
  • Dispose of biohazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
  • Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Communicate abnormal or critical test results promptly to the concerned physician or department.
  • Participate in internal and external quality control programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: 0–3 years (experience in hospital or diagnostic lab preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of laboratory instruments, testing methods, and reporting procedures.
  • Soft Skills: Attention to detail, teamwork, time management, communication, and ethical conduct.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and MS Office preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Hospital laboratory, diagnostic center, or clinical lab setting.
  • May require shift duties, weekend, or emergency hours as per hospital policy.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,500.00 - ₹29,204.20 per month
