Job Description

L2 Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform

    advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and incident resolution

    for network security devices (WAF, Proxy, Firewalls, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience in F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF)

    — including configuration, policy tuning, SSL offloading, traffic inspection, and troubleshooting application-layer attacks
  • Manage and maintain

    security devices

    such as

    F5 WAF, NSX (VMware), Akamai, Nginx, Algosec, Zscaler, Sky High, and Guardicore

  • Conduct

    root cause analysis (RCA)

    for recurring security incidents and propose corrective measures
  • Support

    L1 engineers

    with escalated issues and ensure timely resolution in line with SLAs
  • Monitor and tune

    firewall policies, WAF rules, and proxy configurations

    to optimize performance and security
  • Implement and manage

    micro-segmentation policies

    in Guardicore or similar platforms
  • Collaborate with architecture and threat management teams for continuous improvement of security posture
  • Document all operational processes, configurations, changes, and incident reports (SOPs, EOD/SOD, dashboards)
  • Participate in

    change management, incident response, and problem management

    activities
  • Stay updated with the latest vulnerabilities, threats, and best practices in network security

Technical Skills Required:

Core Network Security Tools & Technologies:

  • WAF:

    F5 (Advanced WAF/ASM), Akamai, Nginx

  • Virtualization Security:

    VMware NSX

  • Proxy & Web Security:

    Zscaler, Sky High (McAfee)

  • Firewall Management:

    Algosec

  • Micro-Segmentation:

    Guardicore

Networking & OS:

  • Strong understanding of

    TCP/IP, routing, switching, and packet flow analysis

  • Working knowledge of

    Windows, Linux, and Ubuntu

    operating systems

Security Concepts:

  • Vulnerability management, system hardening, OWASP Top 10, CIA Triad, and security controls


Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 operations environment
  • Team player with good documentation and reporting skills

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CEH / CISM / CISSP / CCNP Security / Network Security Certified Professional / Certified Endpoint Protection Professional

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
