Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Junior QA Engineer – Automation
with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in writing and executing automated test scripts. The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge in automation frameworks such as
Selenium with Java
or
Playwright with TypeScript
, and a strong willingness to learn and grow in modern QA automation practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain basic automated test scripts for web and API testing.
- Execute automated test cases and support regression test coverage.
- Work closely with senior QA engineers and developers to understand feature requirements and test scope.
- Perform debugging of failed test cases and raise defects with clear documentation.
- Contribute to improving automation framework components under guidance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
- Maintain test documentation, test data, and execution reports.
- Support CI/CD automation workflows and basic configuration tasks.
Core Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Automation Experience: Exposure to Playwright (TypeScript) or Selenium (Java).
- Programming Skills: Good understanding of Java or TypeScript fundamentals.
- API Testing: Basic experience using Postman or an automation framework like RestAssured.
- SQL: Ability to write basic SQL queries for test validation.
- Version Control: Working knowledge of Git.
- Testing Basics: Understanding of testing concepts such as regression, smoke, functional, and boundary testing.
Good To Have Skills
- CDAC certification or equivalent training in software testing or automation.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Eagerness to learn automation frameworks, tools, and best practices.
