Junior Project Engineer (Civil)

Reports To: Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager – Execution

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Junior Project Engineer will support the execution of residential and commercial interior projects by coordinating site activities, managing vendors, checking quality, and ensuring smooth daily progress.

This role is ideal for candidates who are technically strong, disciplined, and eager to learn and grow into a full Project Engineer within 1–2 years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Site Coordination & Execution

• Assist in day-to-day execution of interior works based on approved drawings.
• Supervise contractors for carpentry, civil, electrical, plumbing, painting, false ceiling, etc.
• Track site activities to ensure timely progress.
• Ensure proper manpower allocation and task completion.

2. Drawing & Measurement Handling

• Read, understand, and interpret interior drawings (plans, elevations, sections).
• Take site measurements accurately and verify contractor measurements when required.
• Report drawing-site mismatches immediately.

3. Vendor & Material Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors for delivery, installation, and timelines.
• Follow up on material requirements and confirm availability with procurement.
• Prevent work delays by forecasting needs.

4. Quality Checks

• Inspect ongoing work for workmanship and quality standards.
• Identify defects early and escalate to Senior PE.
• Ensure finishing quality for carpentry, civil, and interior elements.

5. Reporting & Documentation

• Submit daily site photos and progress reports by the end of the day.
• Maintain logs of work done, labour count, material usage, and issues.
• Prepare simple checklists as instructed by Senior PE.

6. Safety & Site Discipline

• Ensure worker safety and site cleanliness.
• Maintain discipline among contractors and ensure compliance with site rules.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Diploma / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Interior Technology, Construction Management, or related fields.

Experience

• 1–5 years of experience in interior execution or civil finishing works.
• Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and finishing works is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret interior drawings.
• Basic understanding of BOQs and site measurements.
• Strong knowledge of finishing materials (plywood, laminates, tiles, paints, etc.).
• Basic MS Office / WhatsApp reporting knowledge.

Behavioural Skills

• Strong work ethic and reliability.

• Ability to handle pressure during fast-paced project phases.
• Willingness to learn and take ownership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
