Junior Design Engineer – Mechanical

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Design Engineer – Mechanical based in Pune. The Junior Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components, and working on product design. Daily tasks include using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating detailed engineering drawings and models, collaborating with electrical engineers, and ensuring all designs meet technical and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Education:

  Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• Experience:

  0–2 years of relevant experience (internships/projects will be considered).
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or CATIA).
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Prefered Skills(Added Advantage)

• Exposure to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with FEA/CAE tools (ANSYS, HyperMesh, etc.).
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Hands-on internship/project experience in mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.
• Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD, etc.).
• Support in conducting engineering calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, purchase) to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.
• Assist in prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive inputs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and company guidelines.
• Stay updated with the latest design tools, technologies, and engineering practices.
