Role Description

The Junior Content Writer at WhatWorks is a creative storyteller who combines human creativity with AI-powered tools to craft compelling, high-quality written content across multiple formats — blogs, articles, website copy, campaign scripts, brand stories, and social captions. This role demands curiosity, originality, and adaptability to diverse industries, all while maintaining WhatWorks’ tone of creativity, clarity, and purpose.The ideal candidate is passionate about content marketing and storytelling, knows how to use AI effectively for idea generation and drafting, and has the skill to refine, humanize, and elevate the final copy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content CreationWrite engaging, clear, and audience-specific content for blogs, articles, website pages, emailers, brand stories, ad copy, and campaign scripts.Research and understand diverse industries and brands to create tailored and accurate content.Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Bard, etc.) to assist in ideation, drafting, and re-phrasing — but rely on strong editing judgment to produce authentic, creative results.Create content frameworks, outlines, and tone guides for consistent voice and storytelling.2. Blog & Long-Form WritingDevelop SEO-optimized, research-driven blog posts (800–1,500 words) around branding, digital marketing, design, and technology.Ensure logical flow, clear structure, and engaging readability with relevant examples and insights.Work with the SEO/strategy team for keyword integration, meta tags, and content optimization.3. Campaign & Brand StorytellingCollaborate with design and strategy teams to write creative campaign copy, product descriptions, and brand stories.Write crisp, emotionally resonant micro-copies (headlines, taglines, ad captions, CTAs) that align with brand personality.Assist in script writing for short videos, reels, and promotional campaigns when required.4. Content Research & StrategyConduct research on market trends, competitors, and audience insights to shape tone and direction of content.Analyze which content themes or tones perform best and suggest improvements.Assist the content lead in planning editorial calendars and campaign storytelling flows.5. Editing & Quality ControlProofread, fact-check, and edit all content for grammar, clarity, and brand consistency.Ensure every piece of writing aligns with WhatWorks’ mission “Creating Businesses with Stories to Keep Humans Connected.”Maintain quality standards across all internal and client projects.
