IP Specialist

**Job Description:** You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, value-added information to Global Patent Attorneys and Scientists to support scientific and clinical publication reviews, perform import license applications data checks related to drugs, and monitor for the overall risk of early disclosures of any IP sensitive information externally. **Key Responsibilities:** - Search, compare, and analyze information in a scientific area of relevance, such as chemistry (structure related search) or molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences - Manage timely delivery of detailed reviews for publishing scientific content externally, supporting active research programs or commercial products based on in-house established search protocols - Conduct review analysis determining the scope of searches and search results under the supervision of a senior IP information analyst - Ensure clear understanding of the request and delivery of results as per business requirements - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet the information needs of Global scientists and attorneys in a timely and efficient manner - Support in drafting and reviewing basic transactions and contracts **Qualifications Required:** - 5 to 7 years of experience in the Pharma/Biotech Industry, focusing on patent and scientific information functions - Basic understanding and interest in intellectual property, contracts including patents and copyrights - Experience and interest using online and/or end-user patent and literature databases, internet resources (preferred), use and development of search tools - Strong customer-service focus to build and sustain good working partnerships with key stakeholders and project teams - Robust analytical and communication skills - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team - Well-developed research and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail to produce consistently accurate work - Strong organization and time management skills - Interpersonal skills (partnership, influence/persuasion, teamwork) - Strong scientific background: Degree in biomedical/chemical/pharmaceutical sciences, ideally with Diploma in IP or Post Graduate Degree in biomedical/chemical sciences or BSc LLB You will be part of Novartis, a company dedicated to helping people with diseases and their families through innovative science.
