Role Overview

We’re seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer with expertise in Apple Watch development to design, build, and optimize watchOS applications. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend teams to create high-performance, intuitive apps that maximize the potential of wearable technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications for Apple Watch (watchOS) using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Integrate watch apps with iOS companion apps, ensuring seamless communication and data sync.
• Implement efficient background updates, notifications, and health/fitness data integrations via HealthKit, CoreMotion, or related APIs.
• Collaborate with designers to create intuitive, glanceable, and efficient watchOS user interfaces.
• Optimize battery usage and app performance for wearable devices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices.
• Stay updated with the latest watchOS frameworks, APIs, and design patterns.
• Debug and resolve technical issues across multiple devices and OS versions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in mobile app development, with at least 1+ year focused on watchOS.
• Proficiency in Swift and familiarity with SwiftUI, Objective-C, experience with Apple's Xcode IDE
• Strong understanding of watchOS-specific frameworks and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines for wearables.
• Experience with HealthKit, CoreMotion, and integrating watch apps with iOS.
• Knowledge of Bluetooth and sensor integrations (preferred).
• Familiarity with Git and Agile development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with fitness, health, or activity-tracking applications.
• Knowledge of WCSession for watch–phone communication.
• Understanding of haptics, complications, and background task scheduling on watchOS.
• Prior experience working on apps with high user engagement and real-time data.
