Intermediate Architectural Technician

Intermediate Architectural Technician,  Duties and undertake the following responsibilities 1. Technical Leadership & Oversight • Lead the development of detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents. • Oversee and review work produced by junior technicians and architectural staff. • Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with standards, regulations, and client requirements. • Revise drawings based on feedback from Architects, Engineers, and Clients. 2. Project Management Support • Coordinate and manage the technical aspects of multiple projects simultaneously. • Liaise with Project managers, Architects, and Clients to meet project deadlines and budgets. • Take responsibility for delivering the technical package from concept through to completion. 3. Team Mentoring and Development • Mentor and support junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices, software use, and detailing standards. • Contribute to internal training, knowledge sharing, and professional development. 4. Building Regulations & Compliance • Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations. • Prepare and submit applications for planning permission and building regulation approval. 5. Project Coordination • Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and other professionals throughout the design and build process. • Assist in coordinating construction details and resolving any design issues that arise on-site. 6. Construction Support • Provide technical support during the construction phase. • Make site visits to ensure the work is progressing in line with the approved plans and specifications. 7. Material Research & Specification • Research and recommend appropriate materials, systems, and technologies. • Prepare specifications for materials, fittings, finishes, and products. 8. 3D Modeling & Visualization • Produce 3Ds and renderings to help clients and stakeholders understand concepts. • Use software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Lumion etc. 9. Sustainability and Efficiency • Support sustainable design practices, including energy efficiency, passive design, and use of green materials. • Understand and implement environmental design principles in technical detailing. Key Skills Required • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to manage workloads, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high technical standards. • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, ZWCAD). • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials. • Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability. • Knowledge of building regulations and legal requirements.
